After dinner, Allyson and I went to Billy Elliot! Allyson had been dying to go to this show all year, so we finally bought tickets. We bought the cheapest tickets available, with a somewhat restricted view. We were in the stalls in the 4th or 5th row on the side, so we couldn’t see the actors’ feet all of the time, but we could still see all of the show otherwise. The show was really good! I had never seen the movie before, and wasn’t really clear on the plot, but I really liked it. It was a lot of fun. Haha the actors all had Northern English/Geordie accents, which I sometimes found almost impossible to understand. There was one point in the play when a Londoner and Billy’s dad make fun of each other for their accents. My favorite character was Michael, Billy’s best friend, who is a cross-dressing, budding homosexual. He was so funny and talented. The show was lots of fun and had lots of laugh out loud moments.
After the show Allyson and I planned a little bit for our backpacking adventure. And by plan I mean we made two hostel reservations… and that’s about it. We made reservations for hostels in Lisbon and Madrid. Have I mentioned how excited I am!?
