Today we had a London group study day, so we all went to Whitehall and went to the Banqueting House. Reubens did nine huge paintings on the ceiling, all depicting different mythological stories/characters… so of course I have a paper due on that soon. We actually had to wait an hour to get in, because the night before the military had a huge party there, and they were still cleaning up. During that hour, Cameron, Allyson, and I walked around St. James Park. We were standing near the edge of the pond, watching the ducks, when all of the sudden they started attacking each other. I am pretty sure we had just witnessed a duck orgy. It was pretty crazy.
After the Banqueting House, we grabbed lunch at a pub. Love fish and chips! We then went to the British Museum for a while. We finally went to Poundland, near Shepard’s Bush. So much more exciting than the one on Portobello Road. We went back to the Centre for dinner. After dinner we walked around Queensway, but were too lazy and cold to actually go somewhere and do something.
So all this week I had to wake up early to set out breakfast, stay after to clean it up, be home an hour early to set up dinner, and stay late to clean it up as part of kitchen crew. While it was a pain in the butt to have to do, my group was a lot of fun, and I actually had a good time with them down in the kitchen doing hundreds of dishes. Don’t have to do kitchen crew for another month or so! Tonight Sister Schuler bought kitchen crew a ton of different cartons of Ben and Jerry’s! We had a little ice cream party. It was so nice of her. Delicious! Yum!
